It's because DA is too time-consuming for me (I don't find it really handy). Plus, I wasn't really happy with my art and I used to upload only "my best works" on DA.
But now I'm actually really happy with my drawings and I post them regularly on Instagram and Facebook!

Since I want to improve my composition's skill, I've decided to do a challenge created by raru-tan.

Below is a list of 12 compositions with their description. I'll try to make a drawing for each before the end of the year. ^^ Maybe I'll do several drawings for the same composition too.
I also feel like some of my drawings go in multiple categories so the same drawing might appear twice.

1. Symmetrical Composition
  figures don't need to be perfectly symmetrical, but there should be an equal and similar balance




2. Asymmetrical Composition
  not symmetrical but visual weight is balanced using negative space or background details


3. Circle Composition
  a composition which leads the viewer's eye in a circular motion


4. Diagonal Composition
  a composition which leads the viewer's eye in a diagonal motion



5. High Angle Perspective
  viewer is looking down at the character, can be as dramatic or subtle as you'd like


6. Low Angle Perspective 
  viewer is looking up at the character, can be as dramatic or subtle as you'd like


7. Surreal 'Floating' Background
  the background is incomplete and it's elements surround the character 


8. Scene with Full Background
  if you're up for even more of a challenge, try making the background the focus


9. Group
  three or more characters in the same image


10. Sketch Page
  various drawings in one image with the same characters/theme


11. Dramatic Lighting
  can be back-lit, single light source, or done with contrasting hues
 

12. Minimalist
  limited color pallet, minimal shading and simple composition

Hello everyone!  

As I did last year, I am going to write a journal with the progress I want to achieve in drawing for the next year! 

But first let's look at last year's resolutions. Did I achieve all of them?  

1. Focus less on details and more on the general drawing -  

I used to zoom a lot into my drawing but I learned to focus more on the general drawing.

2. Work on composition and backgrounds -  

I think this is the part where I've improved the most! Of course I still have a lot to learn but I went from practically zero background to one background for every drawings!

3. Design various characters (female and males!) -  

I didn't manage this one as well as I wanted... I diversified the kind of female characters I draw a bit but not as much as I wanted. And let's not even start with male characters... ><' Maybe I'll try to create a male OC and I'll try to draw him more often... 

4. Work on drawing different expressions  -  

Yup, I think I've managed this pretty well. We can't really see it with drawings I posted on dA but I definitely practiced that.

5. Draw at least the first chapter of the story I wrote -  

I don't really know what I was expecting with this one. XD I take 10 hours to make ONE drawing so drawing a whole comic is a bit too much for me right now, hahaha!

Now it's time for 2017's resolutions!

1. Keep working on composition

It think I should try drawing different angles and more dynamic poses. I'll try to do the Composition Challenge, that might help.

2. Keep working on diversity

I want to draw more different characters. Maybe I should try drawing fantastic creature too, it might help to diversify. uvu'

3. Learn how to draw faster

I usually restart my drawing at least 2 times before I'm satisfied with the sketch. And when I ink I spend so much time trying to get it done exactly as I want it... That makes my drawing pretty but I also get frustrated for not drawing as much as I want or not being able to draw something else. ><'

4. Practice different styles

I think I should try to draw with different styles depending on what I want to express. We'll see what I can do with that...

5. Draw at least a one page comic

There, I'm setting a more realistic goal for my comic project.

I'll admit, this is part of just being curious as to what people will think vs what I come to as a conclusion. Winner has been selected! Uploading a process of the selection for proof of how the winner was determined.Just in case you did catch what happened with mistake with these duplicated number sets, I figured out a way to make a fair selection from it.I generated another set of valid, 1-250 unique numbers in 50 rows and 5 columns, just as it was on the spreadsheet.I made a randomly generated selection from 1-250I selected where that number would've been in that other column of old numbers with the duplicates. So Merindity, you're the winner, not quite so much with the value of 82, but since the old values didn't count anymore, they were essentially tiles for the 82 to land on at that point...
 
This contest will allow ou do draw action scene with awesome characters and you could wonderful prizes.


Now I also have a question for you...
It looks like my "Mention" notifications are bugging. I saw that I've been mentioned in some journals but I didn't get any notifications. Has some of you already experienced this kind of problem? Your help would be really appreciated.
